By Olusegun Folarin

Residents of communities along Ojere-Oba Road in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have appealed to relevant authorities to find a lasting solution to the perennial flood affecting the area.

The people who appealed in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Abeokuta said the flood had remained a nightmare for the residents in the area whenever it rained.

A civil servant, Mr Ajala Sheriff who described the productive hours being wasted on the road as unfortunate, identified the lack of a drainage channel as the major challenge affecting the area.

Mr Sheriff appealed to the lawmaker representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda in the House of Representatives, Mr Olumide Osoba to use his influence to urgently address the problem in the interest of the people of the area.

Also, the chairman of Abule Ake Community, Mr Habeeb Adenariwo who said the road remained impassable especially when it rained, called on the present administration in the state to rehabilitate the road to alleviate their sufferings.

Contributing, a community leader, Mr Olanrewaju Ojetola implored the Director of Ogun State Road Maintenance Agency, OGROMA, to fulfil his promise to rehabilitate the road before the rainy season.
