The Ondo State Executive Council has approved the sum of N3.47 billion counterpart funds for the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project , RAAMP

Commissioner for Energy, Mines and Mineral Resources, Mr Razaq Obe and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Mr Olugbenga Omole announced this in Akure.

Our correspondent reports that Mr Obe explained that the project would see many feeder roads asphalted to connect rural dwellers to towns and drive the economy of the state through Agriculture, while other life-impacting projects would be executed.

Mr Omole said in the bid to transform Akure into the State Capital, the government approved the sum of five hundred million naira for a street lighting system via solar-powered lights.

He disclosed that the  State Government also approved the appointment of Prince Adu Omotayo as the new Asinigbo of Isinigbo in Akure North Council and as well as the appointment of warrant Chiefs for the purpose of appointing new Afa of Oke-Agbe in Akoko North West Council Area.
