The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi has expressed dissatisfaction with the progress and quality of the ongoing construction of the Ado-Akure federal road.
During an inspection of various road projects in Ekiti state, particularly the Ado-Ijan-Ikare federal road, Senator Umahi highlighted several issues which include discrepancies in performance from the contractors handling the project.
He said he had summoned the contractors responsible for the project from both Ondo and Ekiti states, emphasizing the need for necessary adjustments.
Assessing the recently awarded Ado/Ikare road dualization project, the Minister reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s economy through road infrastructure development.
Senator Umahi, acknowledging Governor Oyebanji’s passion for maintaining the route, announced that the federal Ministry of Work would revisit the road on Saturday to assess the necessary logistics for its rehabilitation.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji praised the alignment of vision between states and the federal government, just as he commended President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to sub-national development and responsiveness to the Ekiti people’s concerns regarding the Ado-Ijan-Ikare road.
