Two people have reportedly died while three persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in a crash that occurred at Ijebu Ode-Ore Expressway after Ogbere Junction.
The accident which occurred at 34 minutes past 8 in the evening on Friday 19th April, 2024 involved a DAF Truck with Registration number AYE886ZQ and a Volvo Truck marked MUS246YH.
The Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun Sector Command, Mrs Florence Okpe blamed the fatal crash on Route Violation and Speed Violation.
Mrs Okpe said the injured victims were taken to State General Hospital, Ijebu Ode, while one of the corpses were handed over to the families of the deceased and the second one deposited at the General Hospital morgue Ijebu-ode
She noted that the Sector Commander Mr ANTHONY UGA expressed worry over the rate at which vehicles speed without caution .
While advising motorists to drive within the stipulated speed limit and observe road signs, Mr UGA also directed all Commercial vehicles must install speed limit devices, to curtail the recurrence.
