Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has commended the role of wives of security personnel in the country for their support to the officers in the frontline.

The Governor gave the commendation while receiving members of the Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, led by the wife of Inspector General of Police, Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun.

Governor Adeleke described the Police Officers wives as the real heroes who sacrifice a lot at the home front for their husbands to discharge their duties in nation building. 

“The security agencies are doing alot to keep the state safe, the Police, the Secret Police, the Armed Forces and others, are working commendably to sustain Osun record as a reckon of peace.

“When our security is doing well, the real heroes are our mothers, you, our wives, you sacrifice alot, you strengthened our officers in the frontline.

The Governor maintained that Osun state has been privileged to be a peaceful state which allow for a number of investors from far and near to feel secured in the state.

He highlighted some of his administration’s developmental projects to include construction of roads and other social amenities to encourage investors 

He added that women are given priority in his administration agenda within the context of a secured state.

Earlier the leader of POWA, Mrs. Egbetokun had explained that the visit was to advocate for strategic support and the economy value of women in agriculture.

She noted that employing women in Agriculture sector would unlock some potential for economy growth and food security for the families of women and officers of the Nigerian Police Force in Osun state and in Nigeria as a whole.

“Your Excellency we solicit your support in championing the women in agriculture and advancing our collective vision for a prosperous and food secured nation. Together let us work more to future where women are empowered agriculture thrive and our state flourishes”, She said.
