Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has inaugurated a 10-man Bodija Explosion Disbursement Fund Committee for immediate relief of the affected residents.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Ibadan.
He said the explosion, which rocked the state on January 16, had greatly impacted negatively the socio-economy of the state, particularly the residents of Dejo Oyelese-Bodija Estate.
The governor said his administration would continue to provide support in due time to every resident of the state in times of need.
Governor Makinde while urging the fund disbursement committee to ensure transparency and timeliness in the disbursement to the affected victims, promised road building into and within affected Bodija streets and a memorial monument building in the area.
The ten-man committee members include the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Lawal, former deputy governor, Iyiola Oladokun, Pastor Muyiwa Bamgbose, Mrs Ojuolape Busari, member of the Nigeria Union of Journa in Oyo State, Nigeria Bar Association, Nigeria Society of Engineers, among others.
