Osun State Government has appealed to the Residents and indigenes of Ifon, ilobu and Erin –Osun Communities to sheath their swords and allow peace to reign.
The State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, made the appeal during the swearing-in of the 100-member resolution committee on Ifon/Ilobu, held at the Local Government Service Commission, Osogbo.

Prince Adewusi who expressed concern about the incessant disputes over land among the communities of Ifon, llobu, and Erin – Osun emphasized that the Government decided to initiate a process that would guarantee a lasting peace in the affected communities.
Prince Adewusi ” Peace has always been among humanity’s highest values. For some, peace is supreme. It is believed that peace is not just the absence of conflicts; it is about actively working together and understanding one another.”
The Deputy Governor noted that the 100-member Committee is composed of Twenty – five Representatives from each of the three affected communities and the State Government would also be represented by twenty – five members.
” It is, therefore, imperative to urgently nurture peace in the affected communities to permanently exhume the toxic seeds of animosity sown over the years, as well as the need to transform differences into dialogue, not enmity. No doubt, it is through reasoned discourse that the fabric of peace can be woven, which will, in turn, propel the prosperity of the state. ” The Deputy Governor stressed further
He urged members of this committee to deploy their wealth of experience to bear on the critical assignment, bearing in mind that peace is essential in any society for social harmony, security, and economic stability.
The Governor directed the committee to carry out its findings and submit its report to the State Government in two weeks.
Responding on behalf of the members, The Co Chairman, Justice Moshood Adeigbe expressed the resolve of the Committee to carry out the Assignment appropriately, with a view to finding solutions to the dispute.
The 100-member Committee has as its Chairman, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Four other Revered traditional rulers, as well as other individuals.
