Ibadan Gets First Rainfall in 2025

By Olaitan Oye-Adeitan/Taiwo Akinola

On Sunday, the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo State’s capital, was blessed with its inaugural rainfall of the year.

As morning broke, the heavens opened, releasing a gentle shower that quenched the thirst of the dry, cracked ground.

In a surprise turn of events, a sudden shower swept through Ibadan, bringing immense relief to residents in neighbourhoods such as Odo Ona Kekere, Soka, New Garage, Akala Expressway along Àpáta Orita Challenge, Ring Road, Akobo.

Radio Nigeria gathered that this unexpected rainfall echoes the recent experience of Akure, which similarly witnessed its inaugural rainfall of the year.

The rainfall was enjoyed by all, as it became a topical issue amongst neighbours, families and friends.
