Munich Crash: Car Plows into Crowd, Leaving Several Injured

A car drove into a group of people leaving several injured in Munich, police have said.

A major operation is underway in the Dachauer Strasse area.

Meanwhile, the driver has been detained at the scene and poses no further danger.

Reuters reported that the operation is taking place near the city’s central train station,

German newspaper Bild, citing official sources, reported that 15 people had been injured.

According to reports, the incident happened at the scene of a rally linked to the transport union Verdi.

A police spokesman told local broadcaster BR that officers were checking whether there was a link between the demonstration and the incident.

This comes hours before world leaders including Ukraine’s President Zelensky and US Vice President JD Vance will arrive in the city for the Munich security conference, which takes place on Friday.

The incident occurred around 1.5 kilometres (1 mile) from the security conference venue.

Police have sealed off the area and asked eyewitnesses to come forward.
