The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, OYHA, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin, has commended the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for the various initiatives of his administration aimed at promoting technical education.
This is just as the speaker emphasized the importance of legislative support in promoting international education and providing scholarships to deserving students.

Speaking at a forum held at the International Conference Centre, ICC, University of Ibadan, Mr Ogundoyin noted that the state government has continued to promote technical education through infrastructural development, training and re-training of personnel as well as development of curriculum to meet international standards.
“The Abiola Ajimobi First Technical University is a flagship project in Makinde’s efforts to promote technical education. The university offers a range of courses and programs focused on technical and vocational skills, aiming to bridge the skill gap in Nigeria. Makinde has also ensured that the university is well-equipped to provide quality education, with a focus on practical learning and entrepreneurial practices.“
According to Mr Ogundoyin, international education is a vital tool for transformative change and a catalyst for empowering the next generation of leaders.
As the leader of the OYHA, Mr. Ogundoyin pledged to explore ways of aiding and supporting international education initiatives, recognizing the vital role they play in shaping education policy, setting spending priorities, and allocating resources to support international education.
He commended the Oyo State Government for allocating ₦145.25 billion, representing 21.44% of the total budget, to the education sector in 2025.
This significant investment, Mr Ogundoyin said, underscores the government’s dedication to empowering future generations and transforming Oyo State into a beacon of prosperity and excellence.
