The Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, has distributed cheques of about eight million naira to the families of the nine deceased police officers in Oyo state under the “Group Life Assurance” and IGP welfare scheme.

Presenting the cheques on behalf of the IGP, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Mr Johnson Adenola, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money.

Receiving the cheques at the police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan,  the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the IGP and promised to utilise the financial assistance judiciously.

Radio Nigeria observed that the cheques were presented to the next of kin of each of the deceased officers.
