Abiodun Pledges Safe Environment for Children

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, wants the support of all citizens for his administration’s efforts to protect children’s rights and eradicate all forms of bullying. 

Governor Abiodun, who his Deputy, Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, represented, made the call during an event to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day held at the Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. 

Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for every child to thrive and excel.

Also, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu as well as the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Mr. Oludaisi Elemide, encouraged the children to always speak out against bullying and be good representatives of their families.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Moturayo Olaleye had urged parents and guardians to make their homes conducive to support and nurture the children, while ensuring that the voices of children were heard and valued.

The event with the theme” Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a bullying -free generation” organized by the Office of the First Lady of the state through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development featured a quiz competition on the effects of bullying with students from Egba Division emerging winners in all categories from Primary to Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary.
