200 Women Benefit from Digital Literacy Programme in Ibadan

A Non- Governmental Organisation, She Code Africa has trained over 200 women in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital in the digital literacy programme to bridge literacy gap, give access to education, jobs, and entrepreneurship.

The training organised by She Code Africa, sponsored HP was held at the Atanda, CBT centre, Ibadan. 

Speaking with newsmen at the end of the training, the Programme Associate of She Code Africa, Miss Maryann Okoye explained that the training focuses on the use of computer by beginners, operation of  smart-phones,  internet skills, online safety, and practical technology applications for school, work, and business.

Miss Okoye said the participants whose age ranges between 16 and 35  years from underserved communities are better equipped in the technological world

Two of the participants Olaojo Titilola and Adeleke Folasade while thanking She Code Africa for the initiative described the digital literacy program as educating and informing. 

She code Africa also partnered Oyo state ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion as well as Women Safe House Sustenance Initiative in the two weeks digital literacy programme. 

It would be recalled that the Digital literacy Programme by She Code Africa begun on 22nd August.
