Christopher Kolade was one of Nigeria’s Intellectual Treasures – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to the late Dr Christopher Kolade, praising him as one of Nigeria’s “intellectual treasures.”

In a statement shared on X by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, , President Tinubu honored the former diplomat and corporate leader, who died at 93.

The president described the deceased as “exceptionally brilliant, statesmanly, diligent, and a man of unimpeachable integrity.”

The statement noted Dr. Kolade’s service as a colonial-era education officer, Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation, and Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

It also recognized his corporate leadership as Chief Executive and Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, calling him a “boardroom icon.”

President Tinubu pointed to his advocacy for transparency and accountability in governance, as well as his humanitarian work, highlighting the Christopher Kolade Foundation’s support for sickle cell patients.

The president concluded by celebrating Dr. Kolade’s life and legacy, describing him as “a representation of the true Nigerian, selfless and resilient”, expressing hope that his example would inspire future generations.
