Retired managers from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, in Ibadan National Station recently reunited with current staff.

The gathering was organized by the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC) to discuss the future of the FRCN and the welfare of its current employees.

Former FRCN Ibadan Zonal Director, Mrs. Bolatito Joseph, advised the members to prioritize their health.

She also stressed the importance of maintaining social connections that can be helpful after retirement.

Other retired leaders also shared their wisdom.

Retired Director of New Media, Pastor Dare Olorunfemi, and former Director of News and Current Affairs, Mr. Adenrele Ajisefini, offered advice.

The immediate past SSASCGOC Chairman, Mr. Femi Oladiipo, who is also the former General Manager of Positive FM Akure, joined them.

They urged the staff to keep their passion for the job, focus on their health, and start planning for their retirement.

They emphasized that being diligent while in office will positively impact their future after leaving the FRCN.

Proprietor of Radiance Schools in Apata, Ibadan, Pastor Oluremi Olajengbesi, also encouraged association members to contribute more meaningfully during their active service and after.

The current SSASCGOC Chairman, Mr. Sunday Olowookere, explained the reason for the meeting noting that it was vital for members to learn from the “retired but not tired” veterans.

Mr Olowookere said their wealth of experience will inspire the current staff toward a better future.
