Police Probe Ibadan Robbery

The Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State command, says it has begun investigation into a robbery incident that occurred on Monday at Oshuntokun, Bodija area of Ibadan.

The public relations officer of the command, Adewale Osifeso stated this in a statement made available to newsmen.

The PPRO explained that some suspected armed robbers at about 8’o clock in the morning attacked and dispossessed a yet-to-be-identified man of a large sum of money.

The victim, who was driving a metallic grey Nissan Primera with registration number Lagos, EPE 901 PS, was reportedly trailed by the suspects.

Mr. Osifeso stated that police operatives on patrol engaged the suspects shortly after the robbery, in which one police officer sustained severe injuries.

The police spokesperson said the injured officer was receiving treatment at a secured medical facility and assured residents that the suspects would be apprehended

He equally urged members of the public to provide credible information that could aid the arrest of the suspects.
