Leading the debate, the sponsor of the motion and Majority Leader of the House, Mr Yusuf Sheriff, highlighted the economic and strategic importance of reviving the facility, describing it as a viable revenue source capable of stimulating local economic activities, attracting private investment and creating employment opportunities for residents of the State.
Other lawmakers, including the Chief Whip, Mrs Omolola Bakare, Minority Leader, Mr Lukman Adeleye, as well as Mr Musefiu Lamidi, Mr Adebisi Oyedele, Barrister Oluseun Adesanya, Mr Wahab Haruna and Dr Babatunde Tella, supported the motion, calling for focused rehabilitation efforts to reposition the hotel as a critical contributor to the state’s hospitality and tourism sector.
