By Adebola Ajayi

Ahead of the festive season, the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has launched a special intervention patrol using laser radar guns to curb over-speeding on major highways across the state.

The Sector Commander, Mr Akinwunmi Fasakin, led the operation alongside the Sector Head of Operations during a patrol along the Sagamu–Abeokuta Road.

In a statement, Commander Fasakin disclosed that 16 motorists were apprehended for over-speeding violations, while speed-limiting devices were installed in the affected vehicles.

He cautioned motorists against the dangers of over-speeding and overloading, urging drivers to prioritise safety at all times.

Commander Fasakin assured residents of Ogun State of a safe motoring environment before, during and after the Yuletide period.

According to him, the special intervention patrol is aimed at achieving the FRSC’s 2025 Corporate Strategic Goal One, which targets a 10 per cent reduction in road traffic fatalities and injuries through focused enforcement and safety interventions.
