Gospel artistes in Nigeria have been urged to compose songs that glorify and exalt God rather than promote immorality.
The charge was given by Deacon Tosin Okanlawon during a sermon at the maiden praise concert and album launch of the Peculiar People’s Band.

The event was held at the United Baptist Church, Olupoyi, Apata, Ibadan.
Deacon Okanlawon said gospel music should inspire people to seek God and offer hope to the hopeless.

He added that such songs gladden the heart of God and draw listeners closer to Him.
The cleric also urged Nigerians to continually thank God for His faithfulness and protection as the year draws to a close.
In a remark, the Pastor-in-Charge, United Baptist Church, Olupoyi, Reverend Victor Segun-Ogundipe, said the church remains committed to supporting talented members who excel in their chosen fields.
The Convener of the Peculiar People’s Band, Mrs. Tolulope Daramola, thanked God for the successful release of the band’s six-track album titled “God of Wonders.”
Mrs. Daramola said the songs were inspired by God’s goodness and mighty works in her life. She encouraged upcoming gospel artistes to remain resilient and focused despite challenges.
The husband of the convener, Mr. Femi Daramola of FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, appreciated guests and supporters for their contributions to the success of the album launch.
