Adeleke Orders Cleaning of Ikirun Palace

By Funmi Ojo

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has announced the immediate cleaning and clearing of the Ikirun Palace, which had become bushy due to the prolonged kingship crisis in the town.

‎The governor expressed displeasure over the neglected state of the palace, describing it as unacceptable for such an important cultural and historical symbol of Ikirun land.

He made the announcement during a condolence visit to Ikirun, where he sympathised with families of prominent sons of the town who recently passed away.

‎Governor Adeleke noted that the abandoned condition of the palace was a direct result of the prolonged kingship dispute, which had stalled proper management and upkeep of the royal institution.

‎He assured residents that the state government would take immediate steps to restore the palace environment, pending a lasting resolution of the kingship matter.
