Leaders at all levels need to embrace the principles of servant leadership and place the welfare of the people above personal interests, in line with the example of Jesus Christ.
Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, OGHA, Mr Oludaisi Elemide, stated this in an Easter message made available to newsmen through his Media Aide, Mr Kunle Idowu, Mr Elemide described Easter as a sacred period symbolizing hope, renewal, and the triumph of light over darkness.
He urged citizens to reflect on the virtues of love, humility, and selflessness as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
The Speaker noted that the season presents an opportunity for individuals and communities to renew their faith and commitment to building a harmonious society, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences.
Mr Elemide emphasised that the lessons of Easter remain timeless, noting that perseverance, faith, and resilience are essential in overcoming challenges and achieving lasting transformation.
He also encouraged residents to support one another and extend a hand of fellowship to the less-privileged in society.
The Speaker further advised youths to remain hopeful and channel their energies into productive ventures that would contribute to the growth and development of Ogun State and the nation at large.
Mr Elemide reaffirmed the commitment of the OGHA to enacting laws and policies that would enhance the welfare and prosperity of the people, assuring that the legislature remains focused on supporting the state’s development.
