Following a series of deadly attacks that claimed lives and heightened fear in Akure North council area of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has vowed to take decisive action and deal with the problem.
The governor made this known during a condolence visit to the palace of the Olumafon of Imafon, Oba Samuel Aliu.
While expressing deep sympathy with bereaved families, Governor Aiyedatiwa told the residents that concrete measures were being intensified to restore peace and protect lives and property.
The governor noted that security agencies were working closely with local hunters and vigilante groups to secure forests and surrounding communities.
He however urged the residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information.
In separate remarks, Oba Aliu and the Olu of Ilado-Igbatoro, Oba Kayode Ajomole, commended the governor’s swift intervention and called for increased support for security agencies.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Adebowale Lawal gave an assurance that security agencies were on top of the situation.
Gunmen attacks on Imafon, Igushin, and Ilado communities in Akure North Local Government Area have claimed lives in the recent time.
