Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan says the fight against insecurity required collaboration, partnership and sustained support from all Stakeholders.
Mr. Gotan Stated this during the presentation of the 300 newly-purchased security motorcycles to the security agencies in the state by The Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Osun Chapter, held at the State Police Headquarters.
He noted that together we can build a safer society for everyone to thrive.
While lauding the donation from ALGON, The Osun CP said the motorcycles would enhance the Security Agencies’ s operational capacity, particularly in hard to reach areas of the state .
Mr.Gotan described the intervention as timely and clear demonstration of ALGON’S resolve to ensure protection for residents.
Earlier in his remarks, The State Chairman ALGON ,Osun State, Mr. Samuel Idowu who explained that the Local Government remained the closest tier of Government to the people and understands the peculiar security situation, expressed its resolved to address the issues effectively.
Mr. Idowu also assured that more invention would be provided for the security agencies to boost their operations.
The benefiting security formations are: Nigeria Police Force, NPF, Department of State Security Services, DSS, Nigerian security and civil Defence, NSCDC, Vigilante Group of Nigeria,VGN, Hunters ,Local / Community Security Agencies among others.
The event had in attendance heads of Security Agencies and Traditional Rulers amongst other distinguished personalities.
