The Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr Olufemi Fulani, has urged members of the News and Current Affairs Department to uphold the highest level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Mr Fulani gave the charge during the News and Current Affairs Department Appreciation Day in Ibadan, stressing that the corporation must continue to maintain the professional standards for which it is widely known.
He noted that providing accurate, balanced and unbiased information to the public is especially important at a time when misinformation and fake news are widespread.
Mr. Fulani assured listeners that the station would continue to improve its programming while providing useful information that contributes to the growth and development of society.
In his welcome remarks, the Deputy Director, News and Current Affairs Department, Mr Adewumi Faniran, reaffirmed the station’s commitment to delivering timely and reliable information to the public.
M. Faniran also appealed to stakeholders to continue supporting the station in order to sustain FRCN Ibadan’s reputation as a strong force in the broadcasting industry.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Mr Akeem Abas, commended FRCN Ibadan for its consistent support towards the growth and development of the journalism profession.
