FRCN Ibadan Reaffirms Commitment to Training

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan, has reiterated its commitment to accommodating students for industrial training to boost industry-academia collaboration.

The Zonal Director, FRCN Ibadan, Mr Olufemi Fulani, made this known during a courtesy visit by a delegation from Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, to the Broadcasting House, Dugbe, Ibadan.

Represented by the Deputy Director, Marketing, Mr Adewale Afinjuomo, Mr Fulani, said FRCN remained a national institution that belonged to all Nigerians and was open to supporting academic institutions in training the next generation of broadcast professionals.

Mr Fulani reaffirmed that the station would continue to admit students from various institutions for Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme, SIWES and Industrial Training, while urging academic institutions to reciprocate the gesture by patronizing the station through advert placements and publicity.

Earlier, the Acting Head of Programme, Communication Arts, Bowen University, Mrs Ayodele Olaosebikan, said FRCN had continued to take the lead in radio broadcasting in terms of content, reach, and professionalism.

She emphasized the need for students to gain historical perspective in broadcasting through guided visits to the station.

Mrs Olaosebikan noted that Bowen University would utilise the renewed partnership with FRCN Ibadan to project the activities of one of the foremost citadels of learning in the country.

Present during the visit were members of the FRCN Ibadan Committee of Management and a delegation from the Mass Communication and Communication Arts Programme of Bowen University, which included a retired Deputy Director of Programmes, Mr Adedamola Tinubu.
