The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has retierated its commitment towards conducting credible, free, inclusive and transparent elections, come 15th August governorship election poll.
Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola, gave the assurance while addressing newsmen in her office, at the Commission headquarters in Osogbo.
Mrs Babalola who noted that without the media the society cannot be informed, tasked the media to correct anomalies as regards misinformation and disinformation about election matters.
Mrs Babalola gave assurance that the commission will work with the media community to ensure a credible, free, inclusive, transparent, and fair governorship election.
The State INEC REC maintained that the media is an advocate of peaceful coexistence and tolerance in society, adding that INEC will do its part in dissemination of information to the public.
She added that the commission would continue to ensure regular training and re-training of its ad-hoc staff for optimal performance.
