Operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS) has arrested a leader of the ‘Revolution Now’ in Osun State, Mr Olawale Bakare and six others during a peaceful protest in Osogbo.

The protesters converged on the popular Olaiya junction in Osogbo around 10 am displaying placards with various inscriptions condemning lack of infrastructure, extrajudicial killings among others.

Men of the Nigeria Police were earlier on ground to ensure law and order at the scene of the protest as they stationed their patrol van in the area, before the arrival of the DSS who effected the arrest.

When other protesters saw what happened they took to their heels to avoid being arrested, while the operatives whisked away those arrested in their van.

The DSS operatives however stationed two of their patrol vans around the Olaiya junction till exactly half past noon to prevent the protesters from regrouping in the area.

In a statement made available to newsmen by the protesters, they observed that the poor infrastructure in the country was making life unbearable for Nigerians.

They also condemned the incessant killings in Southern Kaduna and called for immediate investigation and arrests of all the perpetrators of the gruesome killings.
