Oyo Commissioner Tasks SGB on Education Reform

Chairmen and members of Oyo State School Governing Board, SGB, have been called upon to make self-sacrifice for structural and academic transformations of schools.

Commissioner for Education,Science and technology, Mr Rahman Abiodun Abdul-Raheem made the call during a training for the chairmen and member of the SGB held at International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

Mr AbdulRaheem explained that the state government wanted to ensure attainment of its goals for schools in the state, hence the need for the members of governing board to be focused and understand their roles.

Also, the facilitators at the training, professor Adewole Adeyeye, Dr. Tunji Awotayo and Dr. Daniel Adekeye tasked the trainees on creativity, urging them to develop partnership with corporate bodies and synegise with school principals.

Some of the Trainees who spoke with Radio Nigeria said the training served as an eye opener on strategic planning and sourcing of fund for the progress of Education in the state

The highlight of the Training was forum for questions and answers.
