Election of chairmen and Councillors into twenty local government areas of Ogun State has commenced.

The restriction order by the government was being enforced by security operatives.

The soldiers and other security operatives mounted road blocks on major roads in the city.

The security operatives are observed to be very strict sending back many vehicles including some with identifications.

As at a few minutes to nine some polling units along Abiola Way, Ijaye and Oke Ilewo and Sapon Ward Eleven unit 1 and 2 all in Abeokuta the state capital.

The situation was the same at Kobiti Mosque where some electorates were seen seated with no sign of the election materials in sight.

At the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission office, security operatives were seen seated.

The state chairman of OGSIEC, Mr. Babatunde Osinbodu was said to be in the office and will later in the day speak with the media on the exercise.
