At least Thirteen persons have lost their lives in two separate motor accidents along Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa highway in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State .

Radio Nigeria gathered that eight survivors of the accident are currently receiving treatment at a private hospitals in Bode Saadu community in the local government area of the state.

while the remains of the dead passengers have been deposited at the mortuary of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) Ilorin.

The two separate motor accidents which occurred at about 4:00am claimed 13 lives and the crashes involved an 18-passenger hi-ace buses enroute Lagos and Sokoto states.

It was gathered that the one coming from Lagos rammed into already stationed trailer, while the second bus veered off the road on its way from the northern part of the country, due to impact of the accident.

Speaking on the incident, the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Gbenga Owoade, attributed the road crashes to carelessness on the part of the drivers.

The sector commander also cautioned drivers to avoid night journey, overloading and taking of intoxicating substances while driving.

A chartered commercial bus from Lagos carrying crates of eggs has rammed into a stationary trailer along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway killing one person and injuring two others.

A statement from the Ogun State Traffic Control and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, notes that the trailer axle problem was being fixed by the driver and the motor-boy at the middle of the road when the bus rammed into it around Isara Remo Bridge.

The statement explains that one of the passengers in the bus died on the spot while the bus driver and his second passenger were rushed to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Sagamu by the officials of Federal Road Safety Corp.

Meanwhile the two vehicles involved in the accident had been moved to the Police Motor Traffic Division in Ode-Remo.

Three suspected internet fraudsters were chased to death while one other also sustained injuries in a road accident following an alleged chase by operatives of the Joint taskforce in Osogbo.

The accident occurred Tuesday evening on the East bypass when the Toyota Corolla with registration number KUJ-553 LY Abuja veered off the road during the chase, and hit electricity poll.

One of the victims was said to have gave up the ghost instantly while two  out of the remaining three occupants who sustained serious injuries later died on their way to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses told Radio Nigeria correspondent that the joined taskforce operatives ran away immediately the incident occurred and were chased by sympathizers.

The operatives were said to have been shooting sporadically into the air to be able to escape jungle justice.

As at the time of filling this report, some angry youths have blocked every road leading to the Government House and other major streets in Osogbo to protest against the action of the suspected SARS officers.

They have also dumped the corpse of one of the deceased at the Government House gate in Osogbo to register their grievances.

Confirming the incident, Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Yemisi Opalola denied the involvement of police in the incident, saying the incident was between joint task force and suspected internet fraudsters.

Several people have been injured as a result of an accident on Moniya-Iseyin road.
The incident occurred today in front of Kings College, Moniya, Ibadan.
Report says the drivers of the two cars, a Toyota RAV4 and a Toyota Camry engaged in excessive speeding, and consequently lost control.
Although no lives were lost, the two vehicles were seriously damaged while occupants sustained various degrees of injuries.
They were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Rescue team of the NSCDC from Akinyele Divisional Office were on ground for traffic control.

Four women have died on the spot while four others sustained various degrees of injury in a road accident at Alesinloye junction when a truck lost control and rammed over a commercial Nissan Micra and motorcycles.

The unfortunate incident happened around nine in the morning when the truck fully loaded with ice cream which was approaching Alesinloye T-Junction lost control ,crushed A commercial Nissan Micra and two motorcycles.

The truck was said to have hit the vehicle and the motorcycles and there after plunged into a road side dictch trapping the victims and vehicles.

The incident attracted attention of hundreds of sympathisers who stormed the scene to take a glimpse of the scenario with total disregard to measures to prevent the spread of covid-19.

The situation was however responsible for traffic gridlock experienced in parts of Ibadan including dugbe ,Alesinloye and ring road axis.

It took rescue operators over one hour to evacuate the remains of victims trapped under the truck.

Some witnesses who narrated their experices described the situation as unfortunate.

Confirming the incident ,commander Oyo state road transport management Agency, Mr Bolaji Adelaku said it took a combined effort of security agencies to rescue victims and evacuate the bodies.
Mr Adelakun identified overloading and defiance to traffic rules as the cause of the accident.
Also confirming the number of casualties,police public relations officer in Oyo state,Mr olugbenga Fadeyi said the victims had been taken away by officials of FRSC.
Precisely February last year,A road accident involving a truck occured at the same spot leaving six people dead.

A Mazda car loaded with crates of eggs has crushed a twenty-six-year-old man to death along Isiun-Abeokuta expressway.

Witness account reported that the accident occurred when the deceased was making calls while crossing the expressway.

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, in a report said the deceased and his brother were travelling to Lagos from Abeokuta when their vehicle broke down.

According to the report, while other passengers were standing by the roadside waiting for the driver to repair the vehicle, the deceased was making calls on phone.

The corpse has been deposited at the morgue while the driver has been taken to police custody.

The driver of the car while speaking with newsmen shortly after Mr. Bolaji Balogun said the deceased rammed into the vehicle while on the expressway.

Two passengers early this morning (Wednesday) sustained severe injuries from an accident that occurred at Adamasingba Junction on Mokola/Dugbe road in Ibadan.

The accident, which involved an 18-seater bus with registration number MUS 814 XY was heading to Lagos from Sango Motor Park but crushed a commercial motorcycle conveying two passengers at the junction.

Our correspondent who witnessed the scene report that the driver was almost lynched as a result of argument that ensued shortly after the accident.

One the injured victims who spoke to Radio Nigeria said the vehicle was at top speed when the accident occurred.

The vehicle which also damaged the warden point of the traffic officers saw some of the passengers thanking God for protection while others were blaming the commercial motorcyclist for not checking properly before crossing the road.

As at time of filing this report, one of the passengers had been conveyed to unknown hospital for care.
