Always work for the unity and advancement of Nigeria – Prophet Oladeji

Nigerian politicians have been advised to always strive for the unity of the country for speedy, meaningful peace and development.

The General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji stated this at the third annual convention of Ori-Oke Oju Olorunkole, Akinyele, Moniya, Ibadan.

Prophet Oladeji noted that every challenge confronting the nation is surmountable if people move closer to God and shun sins.

He called on men of God to lead their congregations with undiluted words of God to bring about a peaceful society.

Earlier, the founder of Ori-Oke Oju Olorunkole, Akinyele, Moniya, Ibadan, Prophet Moses Olagbenro (Baba Ori-Oke) said this year’s edition of the annual convention was used to offer prayers for the mercy of the Lord on Nigerians and the country as a whole.

The annual convention of Ori-Oke Oju Olorunkole featured prayers, praise and worship as well as musical ministrations.

Akinyele Killings: Police Arrests Suspect, Pledges to Fish out Perpetrators, Restore Normalcy

The Oyo State Police command says the spate of killings in Akinyele local government area of the state will soon be a thing of the past, as the command is doing everything possible to fish out the perpetrators and restore normalcy to the areas.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Eleyele headquarters, Ibadan, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, who stated this during an interview with Radio Nigeria, said a suspect had been arrested in connection with the attacks and is assisting the police with information.

Mr Fadeyi noted that the police will not leave any stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators of the dastardly act into the book.

Mr Fadeyi urged residents of the areas to always be vigilant and cooperate with the police in putting an end to the senseless killings in the community.

It would be recalled that five people have been killed by suspected assailants, while a mother and daughter were recently attacked at Alaka area, Moniya Ibadan, leaving them battling with their lives with serious head injuries.

Another Young Woman Attacked in Sasa, Ibadan

Barely 72 hours after a five year old boy was gruesomely macheted to death in Akinyele local government, another woman in her late 20s has allegedly suffered a similar fate.

This brings the records of attacks by men of the underworld in the area to at least five with four fatalities in few weeks.

Most of the victims were left with deep cuts on their head, a sign which indicates mode of operations of the assailants.

The latest victim, a lady in her twenties whose identity is yet to be known as at the time of filling this report was said to be washing dishes in front of her house when the unknown person macheted her on the head and left her in pool of blood which drooled from the deep cut.

A witness who preferred anonymity said the woman’s husband was on his way from the mosque when he met the wife on the floor and alerted his neighbours.

The woman had been taken away to an undisclosed hospital by the police.

However it can not be ascertained whether the victim is dead or not.

Efforts to reach the police Public Relation Officer, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi was unsuccessful as his mobile number could not be reached.
