As parts of funeral activities lined up for the late Governor of Oyo state, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala, hundreds of friends and families have converged on College of Health Science, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso for another day of tribute.

In attendance were dignitaries from all walks of life, groups, organizations and other individuals.

In separate tributes among others, Member representing Surulere Ogo-Oluwa federal constituency, Segun Odebunmi, Senator Fatai Buhari of Oyo North senatorial district and member Oyo state house of Assembly, Wunmi Oladeji extolled the virtues of the late politician.

They separately recalled the memorable experience with the deceased describing him as a rare gift for Ogbomoso land and his generation.

Speaking, the guest lecturer, Director General, Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, FRIN, Professor Adesola Adepoju said mourning the late Akala was not a one-day thing, maintaining that he would be missed forever because of his spread and reach across many divides.

Professor Adepoju said Akala was a down to earth individual who related with people the same way irrespective of class and status.

The special tribute program also featured various musical renditions, traditional dance, panegyrics and cultural displays

Reactions have continued to trail the death of a former governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria in an interview, a Chieftain, All Progressive Congress, APC in Oyo State, Dr Fola Akinosun expressed great sadness, describing the former governor as a man who believed in serving others.

Dr Akinosun said the former governor’s demise was a loss to Oyo State, Nigeria and the APC, pointing out he would surely be missed.

Dr Akinosun noted that Otunba Alao Akala’s contribution to Ibadan and the state could not be quantified.

He prayed that God comforts the late governor’s family and loved ones for the irreparable loss.
