It was indeed a black Tuesday in Ilawe Ekiti as an 18 Passenger Bus plunged into a ditch at the outskirt of the town and went into flame.

Report from sympathizers say, three persons were burnt beyond recognition while others sustained terrible injuries.

The victims have been moved to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Ado Ekiti.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command,  ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident  but said the command was yet to ascertain the exact figure of casualties.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent reports that the State Police Command has invited one Pastor Nuah Abraham of Christ High Commission Ministry, also known as Royal Christ Assembly, Kaduna State, who convinced members of his church to relocate to a camp in Ekiti State with him, in order to “prepare for the end of the world”.

The Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, ASP Sunday Abutu confirmed this to newsmen in Ado Ekiti.

He said the acclaimed man of God was invited to clarify the claim which had gone viral on the social media.

Ade Nuah Abraham was said to have convinced members of his church to relocate to a camp in Omuo Ekiti State saying, “that is where rapture will take place”.

A source related to one of Abraham’s congregants told newsmen that the pastor first relocated to Ekiti State from Kaduna State, where he was formerly based, in 2021.

He then later returned to Kaduna State in April to ask each member of his church to pay him N310,000 thousand naira, before they would be allowed to follow him to Omuo-Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government where “the gate of heaven will open for all of them to fly to heaven” the pastor claimed.

A first-class monarch in Ekiti State, the Atah of Ayede Ekiti, Oba Adeleye Orisagbemi narrowly escaped death during weekend after he was attacked by unknown gunmen.

The incident according to the witness happened on Sunday between Isan and Ayede Ekiti around 9pm when the monarch was said to be returning from a meeting.

Witnesses said the bandits attempted to kidnap the monarch but perhaps met some resistance a situation that led to him being shot several times.

As at the time of this report, the monarch is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Efforts to speak with him has been unsuccessful but when contacted, the Spokesperson for Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed the incident.

However, Abutu said the monarch was coming from Ijero Ekiti when the incident occurred as against speculations in some quarters that he was returning from Isan Ekiti.

Abutu said efforts were on top gear to track down the perpetrators while he confirmed that the monarch was responding to treatment.

A State Intelligence Bureau, SIB, officer attached to the Aramoko Division of the Ekiti State Police Command has been crushed to death by a motorist between Efon and Aramoko Ekiti in Ekiti State.

It was gathered that the police officer was on his way to office when the incident happened.

The driver of the vehicle who also sustained critical injury is said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

Sympathizers confirmed that the officer works at Aramoko but resides in Efon Alaaye with his family.

The Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Sunday Abutu who confirmed the incident explained that investigation had commenced to ascertain the cause of the crash for necessary action.
