Do not to allow the present economic situation of the nation or any kind of challenge prevent you from attaining your dreams, visions and set goals.

The presiding Bishop of Victory International Church Worldwide, Taiwo Adelakun gave the advice in a sermon at the turning of the sod for the Cathedral of the Revealed Word of His Power Ministry, aka, His Pavilion Christian Centre, HPCC located near the Dizengoff end of Iyana Church-Akobo Road, in Ibadan.

Bishop Adelakun who said the current challenges in the country is capable of derailing an individual from achieving his vision, however, emphasised the need for Nigerians to move closer to God.

He narrated his personal experience of how ministry grew gradually from the early days to its current level highlighting how God came through for him on multiple occasions in the midst of various challenges.

ishop Adelakun also admonished the congregation not only to listen to God but build harmonious relationship with relevant associations and other members of the society as nothing great is done in isolation.

In an interview, the Senior Pastor, Revealed Word of His Power Ministry, Reverend Niyi Dahunsi, who also is the Deputy Director Programmes, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, explained that the project was born out of divine directive to affect communities and the society for God.

Reverend Dahunsi noted that the cathedral when completed will not only host facilities that will be beneficial to people, but will help in building and sustaining the hope of the hopeless.

Some members of the church, Mrs Oyindamola Abe and Pastor Emmanuel Alabi thanked God for making the day a reality and expressed optimism on the completion of the building project within the next few months.

Our correspondent reports that dignitaries from all walks of life attended the event among whom were, Reverend Yinka Adeleke of The Vantage Church, Pastor Adeola Eboda of the HarvestHouse Christian Centre, Pastor and Pastor Mrs Obafemi Olofin of Glorious Christian Assembly, Ibadan.

Dominion University Ibadan has matriculated two hundred and fifteen students for the 2023/2024 academic sessions 

The students, who were admitted into various courses of studies in the faith-based private institution, swore the oath of allegiance administered by the Acting Registrar of the university, Dr. Fortune Afatapka.

Admonishing the new students, the Chancellor and Chairman Board of Trustees, Dominion University, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, counselled the students to be mindful of their choices and wishes, urging them to choose the good and avoid the questionable.

Delivering the university’s fifth matriculation lecture, a motivational speaker and entrepreneur, Dr Olumide Emmanuel, said lack of entrepreneurial skills was the bane of Nigeria’s development.

Dr. Emmanuel informed the students to develop an entrepreneurial mind, which according to him, is solutions-creating, risk-taking, need-meeting, value-adding and investing for the future.

Dr. Emmanuel urged them to make good use of their time, talents and treasures to make a positive impact on society.

Earlier in an address, the vice-chancellor of the university advised the students to take their studies seriously and shun acts of indiscipline and laziness.

Two matriculants, Adeyemi Adejare and Oladele Tobani,  promised to abide by the university’s rules and regulations, as well as work hard to attain academic excellence.
