Women and the girl child have been tasked to evolve technological and innovative skills in their various fields of life, to solve the nation’s challenges.


A cross section of speakers at the women leadership summit and awards in Ibadan organized by Rescue Complimentary Support Corps in collaboration with NGM humanitarian Foundation gave the charge .


The speakers who explained that, women were gifted with talents and innovative ideas to excel in any discipline, noted that the advent of cliché such as “women in Tech”, “women in law”, “women in medicine” among others were signs of that the female gender had evolved as champions.


One of them, Pastor Dolapo Adelakun, in a keynote address to the occasion through one of her associates, Mrs Abisola Adetunji, advised women to see themselves as builders and be courageous at impacting the girl child with good virtues so as to affect the society positively.


On her part, the immediate past Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan Zonal Station, Erelu Bolatito Joseph who said women had the numerical strength to play key roles in politics and national development, encouraged women to support themselves so as to clinch key positions in the society.

Earlier in an opening remark, Commandant-General, Mrs Funkẹ Wehbe Charged non governmental organizations to work as development agents in the rehabilitation of hoodlums, area boys and girls on the Nigerian streets.

The event featured presentation of awards to women who distinguished themselves in their fields of practice including the immediate past Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan Zonal Station, Erelu Bolatito Joseph.

After thirty-five years of meritorious service, one of the best hands in broadcasting, an On-Air Personality, finally made a glorious exit.

The broadcaster par excellence is Mrs Bolatito Joseph, the Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station.

The venue of the event, Aderogba Hall, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Iyaganku, Ibadan, was filled to capacity as staff of Radio Nigeria, colleagues, veteran journalists, family members and well-wishers all trooped out to honour Mrs Bolatito Joseph fondly called BJJ.

Accolades swarmed the celebrant, as members of staff, colleagues and veterans took turns to speak on attributes that stood out Mrs Joseph.

Wife of Late Abiola Ajimobi, former governor of Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi while felicitating with Mrs Joseph, wished her a happy retirement.

The husband of the celebrant, Mr Kayode Joseph described his wife as a woman full of substance, ideas and a wonderful wife.

Responding to comments from well-wishers, a highly elated Mrs Joseph thanked God for the grace to exit service meritoriously.

 She described the last thirty-five years as periods of collective pools of experiences, which she would gladly share with the younger generations when occasions demand.

As the curtains were drawn on the event, and pools of well-wishers receded, no doubt the encomiums that rent the air will ever serve as reminders of the laudable feats and footprints of Mrs Bolatito Joseph in the broadcast media.

According to the Holy Bible, “Better is the end of a thing than its beginning”.

This scripture indeed captured the celebration of the Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph, who will be retiring from service next month, at a send-off organized by Premier FM Ibadan.

At the ceremony held at the station’s premises at Iyaganku, the members of staff extolled the unique virtues of Mrs Joseph which she exemplified throughout her service.

In a remark, the General Manager, Premier FM Ibadan, Alhaji Aderemi Omotoso said within the short time Mrs Joseph had spent as the Zonal Director, the station had experienced a rapid turnaround.

Alhaji Omotoso implored the Zonal Director to continue to use her influence to assist Radio Nigeria in effective service delivery.

Responding, the Zonal Director, Mrs Joseph recalled her fruitful efforts at ensuring that Premier FM became independent.

Mrs Joseph advised members of staff to always give their best for the betterment of the station.

The send-off was graced by the Deputy Director, Programmes, Reverend Niyi Dahunsi, Deputy Director ICT, Alhaja Wosilat Salami, Head of Administration and Supply, The Reverend Adebayo Esho and General Manager, Amuludun FM, Mr Steven Agbaje.

Onibuji of Ibuji in Ondo State, Oba Folagbade Ojo has conferred chieftaincy title of Erelu of Ibuji kingdom on the Zonal Director of FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Joseph.

Oba Ojo made the announcement at the retirement party for three retired officers of the corporation.

The three retirees are Director News, Elder Adenrele Ajisefinni, Deputy Director News, Chief Sola Adewale and Controller News, Chief Olukayode Babalola.

Radio Nigeria has been described as a broadcast outfit fulfilling its national mandate

Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Dawud Akinola stated this when the Management of the station led by to its Zonal Director, Mrs Bolatito Joseph paid him a courtesy visit at his Kola Babalakin Crescent, Ikolaba.

Alhaji Akinola , who explained that Radio Nigeria had consistently remained in the forefront of promoting unity in the country, said the Aare-in-council was ready to collaborate with the station.

The Aare Musulumi urged management of the station not to relent in its mandate of uplifting people and uniting the Nation.

Alhaji Akinola added that Federal government on its part should sure that the country remains an entity for growth and development.

Earlier, the zonal Director Mrs Bolatito Joseph said the visit was to seek his f support in ensuring peace in Nigeria, and for the progress of Oyo state.

Mrs Joseph who appreciated the Aare -in-council for its past support, said Radio Nigeria covet the continual assistance.
