The Oyo State House of Assembly has congratulated Muslims faithful across the State as they celebrate this year’s Eid- el – Maloud which marks the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement issued to commemorate the celebration, signed by the Chairman, Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, the House urged Muslims to emulate the life and good virtues of Prophet Muhammad and follow the path of peace which is the bedrock of development in any Society.

According to the Statement, the Prophet’s messages were always on Peace, truthfulness and faithfulness, called on citizens of the State from all walks of life to strive and follow the good examples as displayed during his lifetime. 

“It is noteworthy for everyone to emulate the teaching of Prophet Muhammad which borders on love, tolerance , unity and peaceful co – existence. We enjoin faithful to continue to demonstrate good virtues of the Holy Prophet to engender peace and unity needed for the growth and development of the State and Nation in general.”

” We urge members of the Public,  especially Muslims to seize this opportunity to strengthen their love towards one another and make the society a better place by eschewing tendencies that could tamper with the unity and stability in the State .” The Statement added .

Oyo state house of Assembly noted that, the prayers of the faithful and God’s love for Nigeria have kept the country and its citizens in spite of the challenges witnessed so far.

The statement however called on every Nigerian to constantly pray for the Nation, show passion and commitment towards Nation building and sustainable development.

The House, in the Statement revealed  that the 10th Assembly in Oyo State will not relent in her continus efforts of making and amending laws that will cut across all sectors of the State for the great benefit of every individual in the State. 

The statement revealed further that the House will continue to ensure the ties of its cordial relationship with other Arms of Government in order to bring the Omituntun 2.0 initiatives to reality.

” We will continue to ensure unity and progress through mutual cooperation with other Arms of Government. We have shown example through effective legislation, promised to do more to enhance policies that will pave way for development. “

“We urged residents of the Pace Setter State to continue to sustain religious tolerance as this is one of the surest means to unity, peace and progress”.

Appreciating members of the Public for the support and trust bestowed on the 10th Assembly, the House prayed that the birth of Prophet Muhammad will usher in another era of peace and prosperity for all and Sundry in the State.

President Muhammadu Buhari , congratulates his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, for winning his second term in office and making history as the only sitting leader of the country to return in two decades.

Buhari’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, titled, ‘President Buhari hails French President Emmanuel Macron’s victory’.

The statement read in part, “President Buhari affirms that, the iconic leadership style of the French President, who spent six months in Nigeria working as an intern at the French Embassy in 2002, continues to inspire a new generation of leaders and interest in politics and governance, starting from his country and beyond.

“The President notes the warmth and friendliness that has redefined Nigeria/France relations since President Macron assumed office in 2017, paying an official visit to Nigeria in 2018, and consistently creating lines for improved ties in economy, culture, and security, which has culminated in France-Nigeria Business Council, African Cultures Season in 2020, and the France-Africa Summit.”

National Council of Muslim Youths organization in Nigeria, NACOMYO, has felicitated Oba Lekan Balogun over his installation as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

This is contained in a statement in Ibadan by Coordinator, NACOMYO, Oyo State Chapter, Alhaji Dawood Afolabi.

NACOMYO thanked the Almighty Allah for counting Oba Lekan Balogun worthy of becoming the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The Council prayed to Allah to increase the new Olubadan with wisdom, understanding and sound health to direct the affairs of the throne.

NACOMYO also prayed for long life and sound health for the new monarch and as well that Ibadan shall enjoy peace and prosperity during the reign of Oba Lekan Balogun.

The Council believed that the exposure of the new Olubadan as a scholar, an administrator and a politician of repute will be a blessing to Ibadanland .

Muslim Community of Oyo State has congratulated Oba Lekan Balogun on his appointment as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.

This is contained in a statement in Ibadan by the Chairman, Alhaji Kunle Sanni and the Secretary-General, Alhaji Murisiku Siyanbade.

The community is elated and full of praise to Allah for counting the new Olubadan worthy to be bestowed this enviable honour. 

“Not all that climb the ladder of Olubadan ascendancy get to the zenith of the stool. Only a chosen few attain it. “We, therefore, thank Allah and appreciate him for counting our revered father, Alhaji Senator Moshood Olalekan Balogun, PhD, from Ali-Iwo compound, as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.”

The Muslim Ummah also prayed for long life and sound health for the new monarch and as well that Ibadan shall enjoy peace and prosperity during the reign of Oba Lekan Balogun. 

“You started this journey in 1986, that was 36 years ago when you became Mogaji Alli-Iwo. We pray to Almighty Allah that you reign for longer than the 36 years.” 

The community believed that the exposure of the new Olubadan as an academic, an administrator and a politician of repute will be a blessing to Ibadanland.
