President Bola Tinubu congratulates the winners of Saturday’s elections in the Federal Capital Territory and the states of Kano and Rivers.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducted elections in the six area councils of the FCT and by-elections in the Ahoada East II and Khana II state constituencies of Rivers State, as well as in the Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies in Kano State.

The President urges the winners to serve with humility, patriotism, and dedication, viewing their mandate as a sacred trust from the people.

He commends the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his remarkable achievements in the territory, which have yielded political dividends to the governing All Progressives Congress, APC.

President Tinubu also congratulates the APC national leadership, the Kano and Rivers state leaderships, and all party members on their victories at the polls.

He lauds INEC, security agencies, and voters for the peaceful and successful conduct of the elections, and commends the courage and discipline displayed by all contestants, noting that democracy thrives on vibrant participation and competition.

The President affirms that the successful conduct of these elections further strengthens democratic culture and institutions, and calls on INEC to continue improving its efforts to deliver even more exemplary electoral processes.

The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin, has extended his warmest congratulations to Mr. Folajimi Oyekunle on his resounding victory in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election held on Saturday.

In a statement released by his Media Aide, Mr Oyetunji Oyekunle, the Speaker described the victory as not only well-deserved but also a strong affirmation of the people’s trust in the capacity, and credibility of Mr. Oyekunle,

The Speaker also praised the leadership of the PDP in Oyo State, especially Governor Seyi Makinde, for steering the party to yet another electoral success and for building a legacy of competent leadership across the state.

Mr. Ogundoyin urged Mr. Oyekunle to remain focused, humble, and people-driven in his legislative responsibilities at the National Assembly, promising continued support from the Oyo State House of Assembly.

The United States President Joe Biden has congratulated the newly re-elected President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

Report says, Biden congratulated Macron on Monday after a first attempt to call him failed because, the French leader was out celebrating his victory.

The White House in a statement noted that, during the call, Biden underscored the close and enduring relations between the United States and France, describing the country as “our oldest ally based on shared democratic values, economic ties, and security cooperation “.

“President Biden conveyed his readiness to continue working closely with President Macron on our shared global priorities,”.

An attempt to reach out to Macron on Sunday soon after he was confirmed to have defeated far-right leader, Marine Le Pen, didn’t go so well, because Macron was celebrating with a crowd of supporters.

Political Awareness Group, PAG, an Association of Muslim Professionals and Technocrats for Good Governance has congratulated among others newly appointed judges and Commissioners in Oyo State.

In a statement in Ibadan by Chairman, PAG, Barrister AbdWaheed Olowonjaye the group described the appointment of Justice Mashood  Abass as President, Customary Court of Appeal of Oyo State as putting a round peg in a round hole.

The group similarly congratulated Dr Kareem Adedokun on his appointment into the exalted position of High Court Judge in the Stat reminding the two judges of the golden provisions in Chapter 5 verse 8 in the Holy Quran which harped on standing firmly on truth without fear or favour.

PAG also appreciated Allah for Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Professor Misbau Babatunde, Commissioner for Health, Dr Taiwo Ladipo and Commissioner for Women Affairs, Alhaja Kafilah Omolabake Olayiwola for making the list and becoming Commissioners in the pacesetter state.

The group at the same time congratulated the old commissioners, Chief Bayo Lawal, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, Barrister Abdulrahman Abdulraheem, Hon Ayansiju Lawal, Barrister Temilolu Ashamu and Alhaja Fausat Sanni for making the final list urging

them to know that Islam is not only in worship but also in good conduct and perfect accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, 

PAG at the same time congratulated Ambassador Taofiq Arapaja as PDP Deputy National Chairman while the group received the news with the happiness of the promotion of Dr Modinah Akindele-AbdulRaheem to the exalted rank of Professor at the University of Ilorin and the appointment of Ustaz Taliha  Yunus as the Grand Imam of Ogbomosholand.

The group prayed for successful tenure of office for all the appointees.
