High profile ministers and members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God as well as management and staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan graced the retirement thanksgiving service and book launch of Pastor Dare Olorunfemi who retired from the corporation as Director of New Media.

In a welcome address, a professor of psychology and former Dean, faculty of social sciences, Peter Olapegba described Pastor Dare Olorunfemi as a simple and approachable man who was willing to help others.

Professor Olapegba observed that the celebrant was indeed a man with three shadows, as a husband, father, and a man having God as a fortress in his life.

In an exhortation, Assistant Provincial pastor in charge of corporate social responsibility, Oyo province 1, Femi Ogbontiba described pastor Olorunfemi as a man who had God as his strong tower, who was able to weather many storms in the course of his career.

The Cleric admonished the congregation to be diligent in their assigned responsibility.

In an interview, the celebrant expressed gratitude to God for surviving the ordeals while in active service.

Pastor Olorunfemi who said the book was informed by his life experiences appreciated FRCN for giving him the opportunity to serve his fatherland.

High point of the programme was the launching of the book: “A man with three shadows and cutting of the retirement thanksgiving cake.

In attendance were the Acting Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan, Pastor Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi, Deputy Director News and Current Affairs, Elder Adenrele Ajisefini.

Hard work and merit will always be recognized.

This exactly was the comments of staff, Radio Nigeria Ibadan at special programme held in honour of Babatunde Tiamiyu of the News Department, who resigned this month to pursue his career in broadcasting. 

Deputy Director News, Pastor Dare Olorunfemi described the event as joyful pain departure of a hard working personnel from the fold of Radio Nigeria. 

He said Mr. Tiamiyu was a man who could work his fingers to the bone, made himself versatile in his profession, always willing to labour, working in every department in the station.

In his remark, Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, expressed delight at comments made about Mr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, while observing that he would be missed. 

He assured Tiamiyu that the station’s doors were always open for counsels and professional assistance. 

Alhaji Mohammed Bello wished him well in his new endeavours. 

Members of staff who shared their views on Babatunde Tiamiyu, described him as an embodiment of knowledge, dedication, selflessness and encouragement. 

They described him as a mentor, a humble person despite his enviable achievements. 

In a remark, the celebrant expressed his gratitude to Radio Nigeria Ibadan for being so honoured, acknowledging the impact of some members of staff while in the service of the station.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of gift to Mr. Babatunde Tiamiyu by the Zonal Director, Alhaji Mohammed Bello and Deputy Director News, Pastor Dare Olorunfemi.
