In continuation of measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and protect its employees, the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station has continued to fumigate premises of its stations.

The latest of its station to be fumigated is the premises of Premier FM 93.5, located in Iyaganku Quarters in Ibadan.

General Manager, Premier FM, Reverend Niyi Dahunsi said, due to the number of cases been recorded in the state there was the need to make the office environment safe 

Head of the decontamination team, Mr Bright Dowole urged other corporate bodies to replicate the gestures by embarking on decontamination exercise around their properties.

The decontamination exercise was sponsored by the federal government in collaboration with Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria.

Government, banks and other organizations are leaving no stone unturned in containing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

One of such measures to halt spread of the pandemic is the decontamination of public places to ensure safety of the populace.

Radio Nigeria observed that one of the banks located around Dugbe was seen decontaminating its Automated Teller Machines and premises.

One of the customers seen using the ATM who preferred anonymity described the development as a good one but cautioned on use of the right chemicals.

It would be recalled that Oyo State Government had decontaminated the Secretariat ahead of resumption of workers on Grade level 13 and above tomorrow

Oyo state government has commenced fumigation of its Secretariat located at Agodi in Ibadan.

Governor Seyi Makinde at the commencement of the fumigation of the state Secretariat said the decontamination was part of the efforts of the state government to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Oyo state.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, Governor Makinde urged other corporate bodies to be responsive by also embarking on a decontamination exercise around their properties, urging them to follow specifications to avoid health consequences as a result of the chemical.

The chairman of the covid-19 decontamination and containment project, Professor Olanike Adeyemo said only places with possible cases of covid-19 needed to be decontaminated while other public places would receive mild fumigation.

Commissioner for Health, Dr Bashir Bello emphasized that the fumigation exercise was done to make the environment safe.

Members of the team for the containment exercise were volunteers from the University of Ibadan who were supporting the state government as part of their corporate social responsibilities.

The three -day fumigation exercise ends this Wednesday while the Secretariat is expected to be opened next week Monday.
