The Anti-kidnapping Unit of the Police in Osun State has arrested a notorious thug, Oyeyemi Ajagungbade Olalekan popularly known as ‘Emir,’ and whisked him to the force headquarters.

Olalekan was declared wanted by the Osun Police Command on 2nd July 2022 for alleged murder, cultist, and armed robbery, before he was later appointed as a member of the transport disciplinary committee on 9th January 2023 by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

It was gathered that a woman reported her husband to Olalekan for assaulting her and he led his boys to beat the husband of the woman.

Radio Nigeria learnt that Olalekan brutally assaulted the man with dangerous weapons, leaving him in a coma about five days ago.

It was gathered that Olalekan was arrested and later released upon the intervention of the bigwigs in the state.

Findings showed that relatives of the victim took up the matter to the Inspector General who ordered the Anti-kidnapping unit to bring the suspect to Abuja.

“He was asked to report to the office of Anti-Kidnapping in Osogbo to settle the matter with his victim and he drove in. He had been arrested before the officers informed the Commissioner of Police that they had an order from the IGP to bring the suspect to Abuja. He was whisked to Abuja in a Hilux with his car,” sources said.

The spokesperson of the Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, said she could not speak on the matter.
