No fewer than fifty nine eminent Nigerians including  The Diocesan Bishop and Archbishop of Ibadan Province, The Most Reverend Dr Segun Okubadejo and the Ondo state governor have been honoured with different awards for their immense  contributions to the growth and development of the Diocese of Ibadan North  Anglican church.

The event which marked the 8th Diocesan Gleaners’ Harvest Thanksgiving service was held at the Cathedral of Saint Peters, Aremo, Ibadan.

Addressing the congregation, The Diocesan Bishop and Archbishop of Ibadan Province, The Most Reverend Dr Segun Okubadejo commended the awardees for their selfless service to humanity and the church.

The Most Reverend Dr Okubadejo urged christians to continue to pray for peace and security in Nigeria.

The Retired Bishop of Ijesha North Diiocese , The Most Reverend Dr Titus  Fajemirokun said christians must imbibe the habit of appreciating God whom he said his the source of human wealth.

Some of the award recipients including a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Akin Olujinmi, Chief  Olugnemiga Aborissade,  Ayotunde Fagbemi and wife of the former  Director of News, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Mrs Iyabo Afolabi said christians should give to the expansion of God’s kingdom without wavering.

The southwest leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists under B-Zone, has charged the newly elected National Officers of the union to remain undeterred and resolute in discharging their duties and ensure that various challenges facing the media industry are tackled with all vigour.

In a congratulatory message jointly signed by Chairmen and Secretaries from the zone, the Southwest NUJ leaders assure the new leadership of continuous unalloyed support during their tenure.

The Zone specifically felicitates the reelected President, Comrade Chris Isiguzo and the newly Vice president of the zone, Comrade Ronke Samo and Alhaji Abdulrasaq Alege who is now the Zonal Secretary.

The Southwest Zone also congratulates the new Deputy National President, Comrade Yahya Al-hassan; the National Treasurer, Comrade Dele Atunbi; the National Financial Secretary, Comrade Samuel Dada and the National Internal Auditor, Comrade Ladi Emmanuel, who were elected at the union’s Triennial Delegates conference held in Umuahia, Abia state on Thursday.

The B-Zone admonishes all members of the union to come together and join hands with the new CWC members to take the union to a greater height.
