The headquarters of Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations, FCAAN in the United States, says Edo state government has concluded plans to partner FCAAN to develop the game of football in the state through coaching education.

FCAAN Director of Coaching Education, Coach Henry Abiodun revealed this while addressing newsmen on the development. 

Coach Abiodun, said the partnership would include a one week FCAAN D Diploma Course for Edo state football Coaches between 18th to 21st November, 2019 in Benin City. 

The former Handler of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure explained that the FCAAN D Diploma Course scheduled for Ondo state would hold before the Edo state edition. 

Coach Abiodun noted that the training would afford football coaches from all local councils in Edo state to undergo training in modern-day techniques of coaching.

He commended Edo state government for the plans to bring new methods of coaching to the doorsteps of its coaches, which he said was of crucial importance to football development.

FCAAN D Diploma Course for Edo state Football Coaches would be coming up three days after the conclusion of the 11th to 15th November edition slated for Ondo state.

Director, Coaching Education of Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations, FCAAN, Coach Henry Abiodun, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ondo state Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Culture, Mr. Akindotun Owanikin to introduce to him the activities of FCAAN.

The visit afforded Coach Abiodun the opportunity to brief the Commissioner about the forthcoming FCAAN “D” Diploma Course coming up in November at the Ben Idahosa University, Benin City, Edo state. 

The former Sunshine Stars FC of Akure Handler explained that one hundred and forty football coaches were licensed by FCAAN after undergoing E and D Diploma Courses in Ibadan last June. 

Coach Abiodun added that the various courses of FCAAN have the backing of Nigerian Football Coaches Association, pointing out that the registration for the November programme in Benin City was in progress.

Responding, Mr. Owanikin commended FCAAN for its vision at promoting the game of football in Nigeria and the high level of synergy between FCAAN and Nigerian Football Coaches Association. 

Coach Abiodun later presented a FCAAN customised shirt to the Ondo state Commissioner for Sports, Youth and Culture.
