The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting the culture and heritage of the people as a symbol of unity and identity.

Governor Abiodun made this known at the cultural carnival organised by the state government to round off activities marking the 50th anniversary of the creation of Ogun State, held at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta.

He said the vibrant and captivating carnival highlighted Ogun State’s rich cultural heritage and vividly reflected the diversity of its people.
The governor described the event as a spectacular display of unity and a fitting climax to the Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Prince Abiodun thanked God for preserving Ogun State over the last five decades, noting that the state has grown beyond being just one of many to becoming a pace-setter in economic growth, tourism, culture, and social development.

He added that the impressive turnout and enthusiasm demonstrated the people’s strong sense of pride, stressing that Ogun State remains the gateway to Nigeria’s prosperity and a hub for tourism and cultural awakening.

The governor also paid tribute to past leaders for laying the foundation on which the state continues to grow.
