Osun Govt. Expresses Delight Over New Federal University

Osun state government has expressed joy over the siting of a new federal university of health sciences in Ila Orangun, Osun State.

The state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola made this known during a courtesy visit to his office by the management staff of the institution.

Governor Oyetola said the institution’s establishment at this period was apt as qualitative health was one of the cardinal programmes of his administration.

Governor Oyetola promised more support for the institution to enhance smooth take-off and realization of the institution’s visions.

Earlier, the vice-chancellor, Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun, Professor, Hakeem Lasisi while asking for the government’s assistance in the provision of utility vehicles for the principal staff of the institution appreciated Governor Oyetola’s Goodwill which helped in the siting of the university in Osun state

Professor Lasisi assured that the University would positively impact the state as there will be employment and health research to bridge the gap between the town and gown.

Osun Assembly to Look into Challenges of State Poly, College of Educ.

If stakeholders do the needful, education sector would not remain the same again.

This is the submission of the Chairman, House Committee on Education Mr. Babatunde Ibirogba during visit to Osun State College of Education Ila Orangun and Osun State Polytechnic Iree.

Mr. Ibirogba said all stakeholders should be proactive and contribute their quota to the development of Education sector to make it functional.

He promised that the House of Assembly would look into the challenges facing the schools while assuring proper funding of Tertiary institutions in the state.

Other members of the committee advised the institutions to make entrepreneurial skills as a course of study to solve unemployment problems among graduates.

Meanwhile, in their response, the Provost College of Education, Ila Orangun Professor Issac Oyewole and Rector, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Dr. Olawoye Olaniran solicited the support of the Legislature in filling various vacancy posts in the institutions.

Reconciliation Moves: APC Caretaker Committee Meets Akande in Ila-Orangun

The National Caretaker Committee members of the ruling All
Progressives Congress, APC, have visited the former interim National
Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande in Ila Orangun, Osun State.

The chairman of the committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mr Mala Buni
led who led other members said the meeting was to begin the
reconciliation process and find a lasting solution to the crisis has
rocking the party.

Receiving the committee members, Chief Akande advised them to carry
all members of the party along in the resolution of the internal
crisis.

Those who attended the over one-hour meeting include, the Secretary of
the caretaker committee, Mr Akpan Udoedehe, Osun State Governor, Mr
Gboyega Oyetola and Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Sani Bello.
