The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has called on Nigerians to be hopeful that insecurity in the country will end.

General Buratai made the call while speaking with State House correspondents after he briefed President Buhari on the security situation in the country.

He said the army and other security agencies in the fight against insecurity had been doing their utmost to ensure peace, and appealed to Nigerians to give their support in containing the situation.

The Chief of Army Staff argued that Nigerians had a great role to play in ending the situation since a greater percentage of the criminals were Nigerians, whom their communities could expose.

General Buratai acknowledged that there had been setbacks in the ongoing operations to contain the lingering insecurity situation, but that they should not be viewed as failure.
