In Ekiti State, relevant personalities have continued to pay tributes to the chief of Staff to the president Mallam Abba Kyari who died recently from Covid-19 complications.

Those who spoke with Radio Nigeria explained that the death of the Chief of Staff had again attested to the fact that Covid-19 is real and it is not a respecter of status.

The International Press Institute, IPI – the global network of editors, media executives and Communication experts – receives with profound shock the passing away of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari from complications arising from Covid-19 pandemic.

We mourn the loss of this statesman, an accomplished journalist, an astute public officer and a decent human being.

We recall with nostalgia, the immense contribution of late Kyari to the successful hosting of the 2018 IPI World Congress in Abuja.

We beseech the Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljanah Firdaus and to grant President Muhammad’s Buhari, the Government of Nigeria and the Kyari family, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
