Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced plans to return missionary schools in the state to their original owners as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships in the education sector.

The governor made this known while receiving the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria, Michael Crotty, during a courtesy visit at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Governor Abiodun acknowledged the significant contributions of religious organisations to education and healthcare, stressing that government alone cannot drive development.

He noted that collaboration with faith-based institutions remains key to expanding access to quality services, adding that his administration is committed to working closely with the Church.

The governor described Ogun State as a model of religious harmony, attributing the state’s peaceful coexistence to the positive role played by religious bodies.

He also commended the Catholic Church for its global impact, highlighting its contributions to human development in the state.

Earlier, the Apostolic Nuncio, Michael Crotty, praised the governor for fostering a conducive environment for religious activities.

He called for sustained collaboration between the state and the Church, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare, for overall societal development.
