The federal government has been urged to factor in policy that will allow regular review of the current Contributory Pension Scheme, CPS.

Chairman, Contributory Pension Union of Nigeria, CPUN, FRCN Ibadan Chapter, Mr Ademola Afolabi made the call when he led the association’s executives on a courtesy visit to Radio Nigeria Ibadan.

Mr Afolabi said the Contributory Pension Scheme was not in tandem with the reality of the country’s current economic situation, saying it was a way of allowing the nation’s civil servants to retire into penury.

Responding, the Zonal Director, Radio Nigeria Ibadan, Mrs. Bolatito Joseph expressed the readiness of the station to partner with the CPUN in making life easy for the nation’s retirees.

Mrs Joseph added that the plight of retirees should be of grave concern to all civil servants, stressing that all efforts should be made to make life comfortable for them after years of meritorious service to the nation.
