Be dedicated to your studies – Dr Liman charges NBA students

The Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Dr. Mansur Liman has charged the newly admitted students of the National Broadcast Academy, NBA, to be dedicated to their course of study during the programme.

Dr. Liman gave the charge during an orientation programme for the Batch C students of the academy held at the FRCN Training School in Ikeja, Lagos.

The director-general who was represented by the Director of the Training School, Mallam Danladi Kwache, said a conducive learning environment has been provided by the school management to ease learning.

Mallam Kwache stated that the academy is poised to inculcate the prerequisite knowledge in students for them to become world-class professionals in the broadcast industry.

He urged the students to be disciplined and attentive throughout the academic programme.

Contributing, the Director of Academics, Mr. Segun Akinoya advised the students to attend classes regularly and maximize every opportunity to learn during their stay in the school.

Mr. Akioya added that the school would continue to maintain standards as it contributes to the growth of the broadcast industry.

National Broadcast Academy To Open Alumni Office – Director

National Broadcast Academy, NBA, says an Alumni Office will be opened in the school to cater for the information needs and aspirations of its old students.

Similarly, a reunion will be organised at a date to be announced by the management, to bring together old students and other stakeholders with a view to obtaining their support for the development of the institution.

The Director NBA, Mr. Ike Okere announced this on Friday in Lagos, during the closing ceremony of the Second Batch of Basic Courses this year.

Mr. Okere emphasised the need for a strong support from the former students to drive the infrastructure upgrade and vision to reposition the foremost broadcast training institution.

He, therefore, urged the graduating students to develop networks across generations of alumni as a strategy for building a satisfying career and making impact in the industry.

On technology and broadcasting, the Media Executive enjoined the outgoing students to use available technology for creative and people-oriented contents suitable for different media platforms.

In a goodwill message, a former Director of NBA, Engineer Abiola Ajibola, urged the graduating students to equip themselves for the shrinking world of public work with a strong desire for self-employment.

Engineer Abiola urged the graduands to look inwards and develop their various talents which he said could help them break barriers of limitations.

The General Manager, Bond FM, Princess Adenike Adegoke, urged the participants to continue to build on the skills acquired during their training.

Earlier, the Registrar, Prince Eugene Duru had described the set as a well behaved and mature one.

Presenting the graduating students, the Head of Academics, Mr. Ayodele Aliyu advised them to see their graduation as the beginning of learning, stressing that broadcasting demands continuous self-development.

Highlights of the programme, include talent display by young artistes and presentation of teaching infrastructure to the school by the outgoing students.
