Some orphanages, motherless homes, and rehabilitation centers across Oyo state have benefited from the Easter package programme of the wife of Oyo State Governor, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde.

Mrs Makinde at the programme tagged Easter Outreach, doled out cash, food items and toiletries to the Homes. 

While presenting the gifts, Mrs Makinde noted that Easter symbolized sacrifice which involved giving, hence the need to help the needy and the vulnerable in the society.

Mrs Makinde, who called on members of the society to show love to the less privileged at this period, appreciated the teachers and care givers in the homes for their patience and love to the children.

Reacting, owner of one of the Homes in Ibadan, Jesus Children Missions Outreach , Mrs Ada Odigbo said the home had over 500 children that had passed through its 20 years of existence.

Also speaking, Director, Social Welfare in charge of rehabilitation center for the disabled, Mr Olubukola Akande appreciated the gesture and promised to use the gifts judiciously

On the entourage of the First Lady were the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Faosat Sanni, Commissioner for Special Duties, Mrs Funmilayo Orisadeyi, Special Assistant on Diaspora Matters, Mrs Bolanle Sarumi, permanent secretary women affairs and social Inclusion, Mrs Christiana Abioye, and Deputy Director Ministry of Women Affairs, Mr Adebayo Salawu.

Some of the homes visited included Child Gospel Mission, Ogbomoso, His Grace Restoration Rehabilitation Center, Ilora, Nigerian Training Center for the Blind, Ogbomoso, Nazareth Home, Oluwo Ibadan, Child Care Unit, Ijokodo, Dorcas Adunola Oyedeji Home, Ibadan, Juvenile Correctional Center Ibadan, among others
